I'm so glad I stumbled upon this site. I never thought I would get to hear the magic of Clyde Phipps on the Vibes again. He was one of a kind and dear friend.

Anyone ever here of a woman surnamed English who came to Alaska from California and worked in radio? An eighty year old cousin of mine asked about her.

I would love to find Ron Ellis. I had the pleasure of hanging out with Ron Ellis who sang vocals at the Pines Club with Shirley Kimberly (69-70). Doug Tyrell was the guru for The Pacemakers at the time. Bob Antilla, Big Milt, Derek Newman were memorable band members. I remember Ron would get down on his knees to pray-sing "Stormy Monday'. Ron and I were very close and dated the Burns sisters from Eagel River-Anchorage. Pappy Burns owned the motorcycle-snowmobile dealership. www.harkraderX.com

Does anyone know how I can contact Denise Johnson who sang with Peter Dana? We were friends when I was stationed in Anchorage from 1971-73.

Does anyone know where I can find old recordings (if they exist) of the Northwinds broadcasts on KHAR from back in the 1960's or 1970's?
Thanks!

"My best musician buddy, & close friend, Milton Walton, 86, passed away on August 24, 2013 at his home in Anchorage. He was the "best of the best" saxaphone/singer/frontman/sideman/harmonizer/showman, that anyone could wish for. In his past, He grew up with & worked with Ray Charles & Quincy Jones, amongst his years of playing music. I had the privilege of working with him during my music experience in Anchorage, in the 70s, along with Derek Newman, a super keyboard specialist. Big Milt was born on January 11, 1927 in Wichita Falls, TX. Walton became an Alaska resident in the year 1964 and stayed a resident for 48 years. He will be missed by all, I'm sure! Bryan Roussell"
